It has an outdoor small ice skating court in Union Square, very close to Macy's store. During the winter break, it's not easy to get a ticket for an busy hour session in their ticket booth at the time you'd like to get in. So it's better to buy tickets online in advance. Parking: It took us a while to find a parking garage within about half mile of Union Square. We parked in Mason O'Farrel Garage public parking: $8/hr, day Maximum $35 We've also seen another public parking that is very close to Mason O'Farrel parking, just about 10 or 15 meters away. Remember to be careful about the one way street driving direction when you get out of the garage.
General opinion: Worth to visit
Attractions and activities: De Young Museum 1. In the 9th floor, there is an observatory where you can see the gorgeous view of the whole San Francisco bay area and the city. It would be great to see it in a clear sunny day, before the sunset. It is a must-see. Do not miss the spectacular view. 2. The legion Hall: many different topics galleries there.
Things I wish I had known before: Finding parking space is not easy in SF. So make sure to know where you might be able to park your car and also be aware of the one way street direction when you get out of the garage. We made a mistake in driving direction when we get out of the Mason O'Farrel Garage.
