San Francisco, California, United States Trip: 2016-08   Update: 2017-10-03   By: yanz

Title: Golden Gate Park

Preparation: Address: Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA The park has 3.4 mile by 0.8 mile size and has streets across on it. The park itself is free but some attractions need admission ticket. Eg. Botonic Garden , $8 / Adult or $17 / family. If you drive there, you may find some parking space in the following places: 1. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Pass the crossing over drive intersection. On Sunday, we arrived around 1pm and was able to find the parking slot there. 2. It is quite cool even it is summer. Bring your jacket.

General opinion: Worth to visit it.

Attractions and activities: 1. Botanic Garden, beautiful place to visit. 2. Stow Lake: has gorgeous fall and a Assian style Pavillion. Can rent boat there. Beautiful place and we've seen people take wedding pictures. 3. De Yang Museum, one of the fine art museums in SAN Francisco. You may need more than 5 or 6 hours to visit the above 3 places.

Dining: The park is quite big, we did not see any place we can buy food. So you'd better to bring your own picnic style food. There are restrooms in certain locations. There is one in the Botanic garden. One near a playground, and maybe others I am not aware of.

Things I wish I had known before: Parking is a big thing, so be prepared to take time to find your parking slot. The street parking in the park is free if you can find a space.
