Title: Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Felton, CA

Preparation: Address: 101 N Big Trees Park Rd, Felton, CA 95018 Henry Cowell park is less than one hour drive from Ardenwood, Fremont area. This park has redwoods but also has water areas, creeks kids can play. Parking: pay $5 for parking in the entrance. Remember to get a map there. No Admission fee. There are enough parking spaces. A big parking lot is in the visitor center, several other small parking lots (Lot 1, 2, 3, etc) available passing the visitor center. There are a few picnic areas near the small parking lots. What to bring: 1. Water, drinks, picnic food, snacks; 2. Wear good sports shoes; 3. Extra clothes. Towels, sandals, swimming suits, etc. Even though kids may not swim, they will love to play in the water area. They need sandals, extra clothes for sure. 4. Wear hats, sunblocks, etc. Most of the trails are in the shade but it would be good to prepare.

General opinion: It's convenient and easy to go there. Traffic is not bad. Worth to go.

Attractions and activities: Trails for hiking: See details in the map snapshot. Many water areas, creeks: some of them like a mini beach, people can go fishing, swimming or playing in the water area. Picnic areas. Campground: 2591 Graham Hill Road, Scotts Valley, CA 95060

Dining: No restaurant; There are ice cream and some vending machines in the gift shop.

Commute: Parking is not a problem.

Things I wish I had known before: Big towels, jackets, several extra clothes would be helpful if Kids play in the water. In the late afternoon, it might be cold when they get out of the water, they need extra clothes to change.
