Title: Houston Zoo Family Visit
Preparation: If it's in the summer season, bring cold water that keep your family cool down definitely helps when you visit Houston Zoo. I suggest you schedule at least 4 or 5 hours to be in the zoo because there are so many areas to see. We visited the zoo many times and felt we've never had enough time to see all what we'd like to see. if you have flexible time, schedule one whole day to enjoy!
General opinion: Houston zoo is a great place to visit for all ages. It is worth the time and money you spent there. This summer we bought the Houston City Pass that saved us 50%. Attractions and activities: Must see: 1. Gorilla 2. Chimpanzee and a lot of other animals, birds, etc.
Dining: There are places you can buy food there but it might be crowded in rush hours. Bring some snacks or food would be very helpful.
Commute: Parking in the Houston museums, zoo area is a big deal. If you're not there before 9:00am, it won't be easy to find a free parking spot. There are some hidden small parking area around there which is free, for 2 or 3 hours parking; There is one close to the Golf course, very close to the Herman Park, Houston Zoo.
