Title: Stanford Visit

Preparation: It's great to visit Stanford campus! Suggest to schedule a whole day, or at least more than 4 or 5 hours. Address: 450 Serra Mall, Stanford, CA 94305 In the weekend, it is easy to find free parking near the field track and the visitor center. Important, if it is the first time you visit Stanford, go to the Visitor Center to get the information you need. They will give you: A map and a brochure that contains a lot of important information. The staff in the center are terrific and very passionate to tell you what typical places visitors would see. The young gentlemen in the center highlighted the places in the map for me. Bring drinks and snacks.

Attractions and activities: 1. Stanford Visitor Center: get the map and other information. 2. Cobb Track and Angell Field: Open Everyday 8:00am - sunset. Subject to closing for Special Events. It's very close to the Visitor Center. if you have time, you can run or walk around there. 3. Hoover Tower: $3 per adult, $2 per child. Very beautiful view. 4. The Memorial Church: usually it's open except for Saturday. Saturday is reserved for weddings. it's in the center of main quadrangle. 5. Cantor Rodin Sculpture Garden. Do not miss it.

Dining: Union Square is the place you can buy many different kinds of delicious food. If it's the spring break or other holidays, some of the food stall may be closed. We ate in Panda Express, a Chinese style restaurant. It's pretty good, one bowl about $7, for one person.

Things I wish I had known before: In the weekend or holidays, it's not very easy to find restrooms in the main quadrangle. There are restrooms available in the following: 1. close to the track and field, only about 50 meters from the Stanford Visitor Center. 2. In the Union Square building. 3. The Book Store, a couple of minutes walk distance from the Library. The Library is not open to the public.
